A busy weekend for the cosplay community starts off with the very competitive TORCH 5: Tournament of Champions 5 at SM Dasmarinas organized by Cosplay.ph. It featured two cosplay competitions: the Cyberzone Cosplay Competition sponsored by SM Malls and the TORCH 5 qualifiers, one of several other legs of the tournament held all over the Philippines to search for deserving cosplayer who will battle it out for the biggest prizes at Cosplay Mania to be held in October.
Lots of cosplayers attended the tournament as the event attracted many cosplayers from the southern Metro Manila, although some of the participants have come from as far as Bicol just to take part in the contest. Competitors had a grand display of their skills and talents in front of an appreciative crowd.
And of course there are the cosplayers who would rather enjoy the event mixing it up with the crowd. They posed happily with children and the curious, as well as had their shots taken by photographers.
A simple, straightforward, but nonetheless enjoyable event. This is of course all a part of warming up towards the main event called Cosplay Mania. And of course we at arkadymac will be covering every event we can possibly go to up until October, so we hope to catch you at a TORCH event real soon.
