Cosplay Mania is a highly anticipated event by the cosplay community coming this October, and heating things up for the main event was the Cosplay Mania Preview Event in SM Southmall last weekend. Hundreds of cosplayers, enthusiasts and spectators came to enjoy the festivities organized by cosplay.ph. And being a free event, everyone was welcome to join in the fun.
Held at SM Southmall’s Event Center area in Las Pinas, the program started in the afternoon with a few introductions and with the cosplay parade where participating cosplayers had the opportunity to go around the mall and strut their stuff. The program included song and dance performances by featured groups. There were also games that the audience got to happily participate in and contestants got great prizes for joining. Videos about the upcoming Cosplay Mania event was then presented and the audience was invited to come on October 4-5 at the SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia.
There was also the Crossfire booth at the event area which gave away freebies with lots of fun stuff. Participants also had the chance to use their photobooth to have their photos taken with amazing Crossfire cosplayers.
All around the venue of course were the costrippers who had fun having their photos taken by the crowd, and often photos with them as well. They brought delight to young and old alike with their colorful variety of cosplays. And of course, they took the chance to take photos of and with each other.
The highlight of the event was Cyberzone Cosplay Grand Prix cosplay competition where 27 contestants took to the stage to show the Southmall audience what cosplay was really like in their colorful costumes and amazing performances. At the conclusion, Tantin Legaspi Meneses was named champion, with Serreniethy Fionah as runner up and John Erick Frando as Predator Warrior in third place. They received great prizes from Cyberzone and the organizers.
Cosplay Mania Preview Event at SM Southmall was a fun event where cosplayers, enthusiasts and the curious got together to enjoy the fun things about cosplay. Cosplay.ph says this is just a glimpse of what’s to come at the main event in October, as their other promotional events like TORCH: Tournament of Champions continues at other locations in the coming weeks, so see you all there as we are all excited for Cosplay Mania.
