With its inception in January 2013, IOP, or the Invitational/Open Photoshoot revolutionized local community cosplay events as the monthly affair drew in avid cosplayers, photographers and enthusiasts from all over to share and celebrate their passion, art and hobby with others. organized by student organization Otaku Urule, IOP has had a good run through all 12 months of 2013, in varied locations, featuring a variety of themes, all the while striving for innovation and creativity among the community. Many outstanding and prominent cosplayers and photographers are proud to admit that their skills and talents have been honed by attending the IOP series.
We then are pleased to be part of this extraordinary event again as IOP returns due to insistent public demand after more than a year of absence. WGX Cosplay Centrale, Otaku U Rule , Wargods Icafe and U Got Game Ph would like to invite everyone to the revival of the Invitational/Open Photoshoot or IOP at Chinese Garden, Luneta with the CosClick Soft Launch on Sunday, September 27, 2015, 8am-5pm.
This year the organizers aim to upgrade the project through cosplay video and photo workshops, with the goal of uniting the cosplay community with a social cosplay photo shoot event, introducing new cosplayers and photographers to more experienced ones.
The theme for IOP X3 will be Group Cosplay, with the Featured Anime being Love Live! Cosplayers of the featured anime will be given priority during the shoot. Random cosplays of characters from other anime, manga, games, fiction, movies, etc, are still of course welcome, though costrip will not be allowed. First-time cosplayers will also be given priority, and they can approach the marshals for assistance with their wigs and makeup.
To make things more interesting, there will be a contest where one will be named Best Cosplayer for each IOP event and will be based from the photo output, attitude and votes of the judges. One individual will also be named best cosplay photographer of the month. Great prizes will be in store for the winners.
