The biggest cosplay event of the year in the Philippines is set to break records as everything is set for Cosplay Mania ’15, happening this weekend, October 3 and 4 , 2015 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia. With a staggering 25,000 attendees last year, Cosplay Mania remains one of the most anticipated events among cosplay enthusiasts, with even more from all over the country expected to join the festivities this year. With an impressive lineup of international cosplayers and performers set to thrill and connect with their Filipino fans, it will definitely be an exciting weekend for the cosplay community.
Among the amazing international cosplayers slated to make their appearance at the event are wildly popular cosplay pair from China, Hana and Baozi, who have quite a strong following here in the Philippines. Kaname is an accomplished cosplayer from Japan and who has been a regular guest at Cosplay Mania. Ying Tze is a phenomenal cosplayer from Malaysia and is set to delight her fans with her spectacular cosplays. Ladybeard is a class all his own as this Japan-based Australian wrestler, heavy metal singer and pop idol will be rocking the halls this weekend.
Cosplay Mania JAM: Japanese Anime Music would be an exciting concert featuring prominent and accomplished artists from Japan who will be putting on great performances for their Filipino audience. Aya Ikeda is known for singing a number of memorable anime theme songs like from the Precure series, and she will be returning to Cosplay Mania after a well-received show last year. Loverin Tamburin will also be returning after a great showing at last year’s concert, and they are know for performing songs for well-known titles Disgaea, Natsuhiro Drops and Oedo Blacksmith. Itsuki Akira is a rising J-pop idol known for her cosplays of Super Sonico and Toujo Nozomi and has since moved on to singing and acting. Famous singer and voice actress Pile rounds up this year’s JAM lineup. She has received acclaim for her role as Maki Nishikino of the Love Live! anime and video game franchise and she is excited to be performing in the Philippines for the first time.
But Cosplay Mania is never just about the guests. Lots of activities and attractions will be keeping everybody excited and happy, like the Cosplay Mania Cup, with the champions from the different legs of the Cosplay Mania Roadshow competing for huge prizes in singles competition. There’s TORCH All Stars where the best duos from the various legs held nationwide go head to head for the right to be named champion and be the country’s representative at AFA. Then there’s the Asia Karaoke Nodojiman Championships, where the three best singers will be going to Japan for free to represent the country.
