The biggest pop culture event in the Philippines is just around the corner as AsiaPOP Comicon Manila returns with even bigger and more spectacular attractions that fans everywhere are sure to love, and to get to let everyone know what great things to expect, the media was invited for the first glimpse of what is to come at APCC. arkadymac.com has been APCC’s media partner from the very start, and we are fortunate to be able to cover this year’s APCC’s press conference with our Correspondent Rica.
There was excitement in the air as the media gathered at Conrad Hotel, each having their own speculations as to the guests who would be appearing over the weekend and what big news would be announced.
The program started with welcome remarks by the host, seasoned radio DJ, Chico Garcia, recapping the incredible strides that APCC has made in the country’s pop culture community over the years.
After which, the Director for Marketing and International Business Development of the Al Ahli Holding Group, Abdulla Mahmood, laid out the vision that APCC will be taking his year as well as highlighting the commitment that APCC has made to its fans to deliver rich and diverse content and the excitement of having an event of international caliber.
He then got to unveil the guests for the press conference as they were introduced one by one. They were renowned cosplayer and crafter Canvas Cosplay, comic book legends Whilce Portacio and Lan Medina, actor and cast of Supernatural Osric Chau, and MMA fighter Honorio Banario.
They welcomed questions from the media as well as expressed their excitement at having been invited for the biggest pop culture event in the Philippines.
After rounds of questions, the guests had a group photo and showed a wonderful start for the main event ahead.
We were then given the opportunity to do interviews with the guest, and our Correspondent Rica got really good vibes and information from the guests, videos of which we will be sharing soon.
AsiaPOP Comicon Manila is set to happen on July 27 tom 29, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, with lots of special guests, attractions and surprises for a wide variety of fandoms.
