After a very successful inaugural event celebrated June of last year, Cosplay Up! will once again be connecting fans with their idols on March 11 and 12, 2023, at the Malabon Grand Hotel Events Place from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. With even more special guests to arrive aside for Aki and Olivie, including Toto, Hanari, Zackt, Roxanne, Jane Yu, Diane, Lia, Yashiroma Mea, Shijou Yuri, Elybunny Animations and JenAnimation, this year’s Cosplay Up! is sure to be another exciting installment for a truly engaging and memorable event for fans by fans.
Organized by One Final Dream, an ardent cosplay fan group which aims to invite cosplayers from all over the world, Cosplay Up has been a cosplayer-centered event that features photoshoots for amateur and professional photographers, cosplayer merchandise sales for fans and soon-to-be fans, as well as activities like their Cosplay and Karaoke Competitions.
Cosplay Up! will be bringing over Olivie from Hong Kong, who has been invited to many events across the world, like Anime Messe (Berlin), Cosplay Matsuri (Philippines), and Sakura Matsuri (Singapore). Some of the many characters she has cosplayed over the years include Eli Ayase (Love Live!), Bismarck (Kancolle), Narmaya (Grandblue Fantasy), Sword Maiden (Goblin Slayer), Yor Forger (Spy x Family), Mori Calliope, and Ouro Kronii (Hololive). Also, she is part of V-Project.
This year’s Cosplay Up! will also feature another international guest, Aki, whose staple cosplay is Kurumi Tokisaki from Date A Live. The other characters she has cosplayed include My Dress-up Darling’s Marin Kitagawa and Hololive EN’s Mori Calliope and Amelia Watson. She is also a member of V-Project.
Also announced to guest at Cosplay Up 2023 is Toto from Hong Kong. She’ll be guesting at Nijigen Expo in Malaysia this February. Some of her recent cosplays are Nikke’s Rapi and Alice, Hololive’s Watame and Pekora, LycoReco’s Chisato Nishikigi, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury’s Miorine Rembran. She is also a member of V-Project.
Also coming from Hong Kong is Hanari, another member of V-Project. Her recent cosplays include Takina Inoue from Lycoris Recoil, Sakura Miko from Hololive, and Nikke’s Alice, Rapi, and Yuni! A lot of fans are excited to see her again.
Talented local cosplayer will also make an impact at Cosplay Up! 2023. Roxanne Kho is an outstanding cosplayer and ambassadress for MSI Gaming as well as being a streamer. Her Tifa (Final Fantasy) cosplay was also featured in CureCos. Some of her recent cosplays are from the games like Final Fantasy, Tower of Fantasy, Nikke, and Genshin Impact, and anime series like Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family, My Dress-up Darling.
Zackt ia a notable cosplayer who is also a dancer and model. His JoJo cosplays of Dio and Giorno were featured in Yahoo Japan and ComicBook.com respectively. His recent cosplays are from the game series like Final Fantasy and Genshin Impact, and anime series such as Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family, and My Dress-up Darling.
Jane Yu is a correspondent for arkadymac.com, and a judge for a few cosplay competitions like Fanfes 2022. Some of her well-known cosplays include Inori (Guilty Crown), Zero Two (Darling in the Franxx), Asuka Langley (Neon Genesis Evangelion), and Yor Forger (Spy x Family).
Dianne is a cosplayer, model, streamer, and brand ambassadress with recent gigs at BaCon Pop, Kawaii Expo, and ESGS to name a few. Some of her recent cosplays from games and anime include Meryl (Tower of Fantasy), Aerith Gainsborough (Final Fantasy), Ganyu Alter (Genshin Impact), Ann Takamaki (Persona 5), Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion), and Veronica/Marin Kitagawa (My Dress-up Darling).
Lia Bear is an outstanding cosplayer who also does gravure modeling. She has been a staple at every local con so it’s not difficult to recognize her.
Cosplay Up has also invited V-tubers this year. like Yashiroma Mea, a 666-year-old devil who will steal your hearts with her voice!
Also coming to Cosplay Up! 2023 is Shijou Yuri, a Vtuber with a crystal voice whose goal is to bring energy and healing to her listeners.
Also coming to Cosplay Up! 2023 are Elybunny Animations (Animator | Illustrator | Game Streamer) and JenAnimation (YouTube Animator | Gamer), and they’ll be LIVE on stage showing us their major YouTube Animation Highlights in the event. They will also be holding a talk show/interview session discussing the behind-the-scenes processes of their videos (e.g. bloopers), how to come up with an effective script, advice for aspiring animators, and Q & A session for the audience who might want to discuss the details of their videos.
NeroNero will be Cosplay Up! 2023’s DJ performer for the After The Dark (After Party). Get ready as NeroNero will be providing musical entertainment for the crowd by playing a mix of Vocaloid and Anime tracks!
