At UP Diliman, even if it were just for a day, guests became masters pampered and cared for by the ardent maids and butlers from UP Tomo-Kai at their Shiroshitsuji no Kissaten: Maid Special event. Complete with good food, soothing music, fun games and great service from the hosts, its was definitely an enjoyable taste of Japanese pop culture right at the heart of the premier state university.
With several cafes already successfully held this year, the folks from student organization UP Tomo-Kai thought of holdng a Halloween-themed butler and maid cafe to present a welcome break to students who have been working hard this semester. At room PH400 in Palma Hall, a humble yet cozy cafe was set up for thrill-seeking hime-samas and ouji-samas wanting to be indulged by personal butlers and maids with delightful treats and tricks.
Four sessions of just a little over an hour each were held throughout the day, and with each, the masters were welcomed by the eager maids and butlers and guided to their tables.
Orders were dutifully taken and then served in earnest by the maids and butlers. For only 100 pesos, customers get to have a delightful set meal and unlimited drinks along with the company and services of the maids and butlers—a great deal even for students on a budget. Instrumentals which include themes from well-known anime were also played in the background, adding to the cozy atmosphere.
After enjoying their meals, masters got to enjoy games with their maids and butlers, with a different game at each table.
The menu even comes with fun extras like special talent that masters can ask from the maids and butlers, something the masters certainly did not pass on, ranging from massages, song and dance numbers and a lot more.
Masters could also order the “Special Photo” and all the tables made sure to get that for themselves, taking home great souvenirs from their fun day at Shiroshitsuji no Kissaten.
What was noticeable that the guests were all into the whole maid and butler cafe experience, and all of them were happy and eager with the the service, the conversation, and the games. All got to leave the cafe with smiles on their faces and good memories from the event.
Congratulations to our our friends at UP Tomo-Kai for a job well done offering a unique crossover of experience at Shiroshitsuji no Kissaten: Maid Special. It must have been a tiring affair but seeing all the happy masters going home enjoying the event was well worth the effort. We do hope to see more themed cafes and events from this dynamic and active student organization.
