The National Cosplayers of the Philippines (NCP) once again organized the Photoshoot for a Cause held at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) last Sunday, June 3. On its sixth edition, this year’s beneficiaries are 200 Aeta children in Pampanga. Participants in the photoshoot were asked to make a donation of school supplies so that they too can help and give back to the community.
A total of 64 cosplayers and 19 photographers participated in the event. NCP gathered school supply sets good for 86 kids from the event itself, plus 35 more from co-workers and friends of NCP, plus monetary donations that will be used to buy more supplies. Cosplayers interviewed found out about the event through Facebook.
A Sailor Moon Usagi cosplayer said that she was interested to join due to a Sailor Moon cosgroup being formed for this photoshoot. Ms. Yume was the one who invited more cosplayers to join, and she organized the Sailor Moon cosgroup. The cosgroup was sponsored by her, taking the girls as models for her costume rentals. An Ochako Uraraka cosplayer said that she wants to give out school supplies for the children, which is why she pushed through with going to this photoshoot for a cause. NCP is also looking for volunteers for the outreach program in Porac, Pampanga on June 24, Sunday. If interested please contact Cherry at 0916 992 6374.
