Making waves performing in front an appreciative Filipino audience at the JAM Concert last March at Cosplay Carnival 2026, halca was radiant as she was endearing, and fans simply couldn’t get enough of her, and our website was fortunate to have had the opportunity to have an interview with this incredible artist.

After making an impression at the first “Utakatsu! Audition,” a competition specializing in Vocaloid and anime songs, halca’s career has continued to grow since her major debut with SACRA Music. Her distinct, cheerful voice was first heard in the ending theme of the popular romance anime Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, and continued to carry on a number of fan-favorite anime series like Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Rent-a-Girlfriend, and Engage Kiss. She’s also actively performing not only in Japan, but also overseas. She also recently celebrated a milestone, holding a solo concert to mark her 7th anniversary in the industry.

At Cosplay Carnival 2026, she had special appearances, engaging stage interviews and unforgettable performances at the JAM Concert. Members of the media got to opportunity to learn more about her, and our Correspondents Zuzu and Marivic got to ask her a few questions.

We asked her who she would you acknowledge as the person who got her into performing? She replied that “The person is YUI, spelled as Y-U-I, who sang the ending theme for Fullmetal Alchemist, specifically the song “Again.”
Our next question was what was your initial reaction when she was informed that your debut single, Kimi no Tonari, was used as the ending theme for the anime Wotakoi? She answered “I thought it was a prank initially! One of the reasons why I thought it was a prank [is] because I took the audition back in 2013, but my debut happened in 2018, so there was a big time gap between my audition days and debut time. And the staff that worked during my audition days and my debut time, it was actually the same, so I was wondering what’s the difference between when I took the audition and when I debuted—like, it’s the same people, so I had that doubt in me, but I was very happy.”
We then asked her that, as an artist who has performed in Japan and overseas, what would you say has been your fondest memory while performing live? She told us that “For overseas, the one most memorable is when I performed in an outdoor stage in Saudi Arabia. The reason why it’s memorable for me is because during that day, it was raining outside, and the concert was already supposed to be canceled because of the rain and the thunder and lightning. But because there were a lot of fans waiting for me, the director gave an OK to continue on with the performance.
“As for my fondest memory in the Japan concert, it would be my first solo concert. [For the line], I was a bit nervous, or a bit worried that it wouldn’t go well, but 30 seconds before the concert started, [where] I started hearing the claps of the audience, I suddenly realized that all the people in the venue came here to see me, which made me excited and boosted my energy for the concert.”

halca was indeed a fascinating artist who we will continue to cheering for and hope will perform again in the Philippines in the future.
Our gratitude to Cosplay.ph for this unbelievable opportunity to get to know more about halca and to share it to our readers. Many thanks as well to our Correspondents Marivic and Zuzu for conducting the interview for us.
