After two years of waiting, the arkadymac.com team was finally able to do our annual street shoot in Binondo, thought to be the oldest Chinatown in the world, for the Lunar New Year celebration for 2023. With everyone eager to welcome the Year of the Water Rabbit amid frenetic dragon and lion dances, bright lanterns, loud firecrackers, spectacular fireworks, and, more importantly, Chinese delicacies you’d only get to enjoy on that particular day, the arkadymac.com coverage team has always excited to join in on the festivities.

Having the perfect location for your cosplay shoot has been a challenge for the longest time. For more than a decade that cosplay has been enjoyed in the country, cosplayers and photographers had countless stories of their struggles of having the right place to have their dream shot. It is then such good fortune that District 1 Cosplay Studio has came into the scene and has made many a cosplay dream come true.
It was definitely an uplifting experience as the cosplay community was upbeat with an upsized dose of excitement at the inaugural launch of Cosplay Up as it roared into the local event scene last June 18 and 19, 2022 at Penthouse at 28 in Quezon City. Organized by One Final Dream, an ardent cosplay fan group which aims to invite cosplayers from all over the world, Cosplay Up was a cosplayer-centered event which featured exciting and memorable activities like studio photoshoots, stage games, autograph signings and special performances.
The long-awaited Cosplay Carnival 2022 attracted a large number of cosplayers and fans to the SMX Convention Center in Manila. It was held from April 30 to May 1 in Halls 2 to 4 for the enjoyment of people from the Philippines and even around the world.
Otasuke’s February 2022 Cosplay Festival by OtaCute was held at Laperal YOU. Suites, Recto Ave. Sampaloc, Manila on April 23 and 24. Both days of the event were packed with fun games and activities for both cosplayers and attendees to enjoy. The event featured many renowned cosplayers that joined the festivities on both days of Otasuke Cosplay Festival 2022.
