It was an affair with a touch of style and class that cosplayers had longed for, and indeed the community responded in kind, dressed in their best ensembles and fineries as they shared a glamorous experience at C’est ca L’amour Grand Ball. Happening on an enchanting evening on the 24th of June in Manila, the Ball certainly was a special occasion the community won’t soon forget.
Organized and presented by Gem Queens Production, C’est ca L’amour Grand Ball was envisioned to be an event like no other for the cosplay community. With more than just convenience and variety in mind, the event strove to deliver a memorable, fulfilling and enjoyable experience to all attendees, and these were delivered in more than equal measure.
Amid the fanciful décor and arrangements, the event started with the introduction of the special guests: Gelo Grayson, Maria Song Cosplay, along with prominent cosplay and lolita enthusiasts YU-EN Cosplay, who were also judges for the Royal Catwalk Competition. Our correspondent, Darene, got to perform a song for the attendees. Saki gave a performance for the audience as well.
Among the attractions of the ball were a mobile bar was quite the hit for refreshments and conversation, while a photo booth gave the attendees a place for memorable shots. And of course the food was good and promptly served.
A variety of games and ice breakers for the attendees to enjoy, as well as raffles that gave away quite a number of wonderful prizes.
The Royal Catwalk Competition was one of the highlights of the affair, and it saw some of the best and meticulously prepared cosplays, impressing the discerning eye of the judges.
After the Royal Catwalk Competition, interviews with the special guests got to enlighten the attendees of the their own journey into cosplay.
The program drew to a close with the announcement of the winners for the Royal Catwalk Competition, which named the King and Queen, and the Prince and Princess of the night. A special prize of Couple of the Night was also awarded. Of course, their first dance as the winners was definitely magical.
The special guests and sponsors were also duly acknowledged as they all made the event possible and have made it truly memorable.
After the program, DJ NicDroid Music gave the attendees an amazing setlist for the remainder of the night!
C’est ca l’amour Grand Ball got to achieve its goal of providing a unique and magical experience for its many attendees, and it had the hallmarks of a successful event.
