With a phenomenal performance that moved her appreciative Filipino audience to the point of rapture at the JAM Concert last March at Cosplay Carnival 2026, Naomi Payton was quite the revelation as this wildly popular Japanese artist left her fans with an experience they won’t soon forget. Our website was fortunate then to have had the opportunity to have an interview with this sensational artist.
Naomi Payton is a multitalented voice actress, singer, and performer best known for her crystal-bright voice and dynamic performance. A true idol at heart, she became an icon as Sumire Heanna in Love Live! Superstar!!, followed by her successful debut as a musical artist in 2023, until she released her latest song, her 4th single, “Negai Prologue” in 2025.
At Cosplay Carnival 2026, she had special appearances, engaging stage interviews and unforgettable performances at the JAM Concert. Members of the media got to opportunity to learn more about her, and our Correspondents Zuzu and Marivic got to ask her a few questions.
We asked her who was the person who first pushed you into becoming an artist? She replied, “When I was in elementary school, I started to get in to Japanese idols like AKB48 and Momoiro Clover Z. They influenced me a lot, and I think the first time that I thought to myself that idols are amazing and I also want to become one was because of these 2 groups.”
Our next question was how did she react when she found out that she had a lot of fans in the Philippines? She told us that “I’m really happy that there are people supporting me from places across the seas like the Philippines, and was hoping that one day I’ll be able to meet everyone.”
We then asked her what has been the best part of being a singer and voice actress? She says that “I think the best part of being a singer and voice actress is applying the power of expression, which I learned from voice acting lessons, into songs.”
Naomi Payton is certainly a phenomenal artist who we will continue to cheering for and hope will perform again in the Philippines in the future.
