Fun and furious fighting game action and attractions took center stage as Cyberzone Slugfest took competitive gaming to a whole new level last August 10, 2026 at the Block Atrium of SM North EDSA. Filled to the brim with exciting matches and stunning cosplays, Cyberzone Slugfest had a fun-filled atmosphere that celebrated gaming, gadgets, and everything tech.          

As part of SM Tech & Play Month that was a celebration of all things fun about tech, Cyberzone Slugfest hosted a legion of fans of gaming, cosplay and techies at the Block Atrium of SM North EDSA, which was filled with many prominent and reputable tech brands that attendees got to discover, expore, play games at and get amazing deals and freebies.

Despite the inclement weather, the afternoon was set ablaze with an incredible program led by Host Ruby Red Canary Naru and ring announcer Pablo “The Pundertaker.” They led stage activities like a game for the audience called Trivia Throne Throwdown that challenged their knowledge of games, plus raffles where attendees joined and got to win cool prizes from the sponsors.

Then it was time for a phenomenal cosplay competition that featured game characters. Each participant delighted the crowd with their stunning cosplays and delightful performances on stage. With a total of 20,000 pesos in cash given away as prizes, the Cyberzone Slugfest Game Cosplay Contest was a spectacular display of the skills and talent of cosplayers who have chosen to bring their favorite characters to life, with Marko Villaluz, JL Mondragon and Wolfcoser as judges.

The main event of Cyberzone Slugfest was the Tekken 8 King of the Hill Tournament, with around 50 gamers participating in the contest. With the action being called by stupendous shoutcasters Rakenrol and Pica, contestants each had one-round matches, with the winner named as “king” and staying on stage to face the succeeding player, while the defeated player going back to the end of the queue. With interesting mechanics Boss Slayer and Boss Mode Bounty and the Briefcase Match, the tournament became even more exciting. The King of the last match within the 120 tournament clock was declared the winner and wass named the Undisputed Rumble Champion with a 20,000-peso cash prize pool a special prize winner for Boss Mode Bounty took home 10,000 pesos in cash.

Cyberzone Slugfest was truly a treat for gamers, cosplayers and their fans that showcased the vibrant community showinging of their passion for the hobbies they love, and thanks to SM Cyberzone for continuing to support and champion this community.
