A special festival delighted thousands of avid fans at Otaku Expo Tanabata Festival 2026 last August 8 and 9 at the Megatrade Halls SM Megamall. In spite of the inclement weather, attendees got to enjoy lots of attractions, guest performers, special guests, games and contests spread all throughout the weekend, giving the community the chance to enjoy their fandoms.
Otaku Expo Tanabata Festival 2026 got to feature a lot of the community’s beloved activities, games and contests inspired by Japan’s Tanabata festival. The event got to feature exciting stage programs such as the Battle of the Bands, Otaku Singing Contest, Kimono Cosplay, and the Cat & Dog Cosplay Competition.
The event has also invites an impressive roster of guest cosplayers from around the world for special appearances and meet and greet sessions, which include Knite from Australia, and our very own Jane Yu, Eri, Pomponmy, Roxanne Kho, and Zackt, along with other wonderful cosplayers at All-Star Alley.
Otaku Expo Tanabata Festival was definitely a fun and memorable event for anime, cosplay, and Japanese culture enthusiasts.
