An amazing weekend of anime fun was off to an exciting start as Animax Carnival Philippines 2015 opens with Day 1 at Hall 4 of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. Fans looking forward to what is one of the grandest and most exciting anime events this year were in for a treat as the region’s leading anime cable channel brings this spectacle to them with lots of special guests and attractions in store for everyone. arkadymac.com is an official media partner for ACPH 2015 and we are glad to bring you the highlights of this much-anticipated two-day event.
Animax, Asia’s first channel specializing in Japanese animation, brought back its annual flagship event back to the Philippines, much to the delight of the fans who have been waiting for this grand event. Viewers and fans will be treated to two days of fun-filled anime-themed activities at Animax Carnival Philippines 2015, and if the first day was any indication of things to come, ACPH 2015 will easily be one of the best anime events Manila has seen so far this year.
Anime lovers, cosplayers and Japanese pop culture enthusiasts were in for a fun, exciting time as lots of attractions were offered all around the venue. Attendees got to have a taste of anime and the Japanese culture as they were able able to play traditional Japanese games and see all of the anime posters and character artworks that have been featured on Animax. They got to experience exotic Japan by learning how to write their names in Japanese and folding Origami for display at the Japanese Embassy booth. There were able to get Japanese fashion pieces and Japanese food from a variety of designer booths and food stalls.
Our coverage partner Jillian and our photographer Kami were there to help us cover the event, and they have been excited about this assignment since Animax Carnival Philippines 2015 was announced. They had fun experiencing the sights and sounds of the event as well.
Rhianna Floresca and Eri Neeman were the great hosts of the program, and they tirelessly kept everyone informed and entertained all day long, facilitating games and features all throughout the event.
Special screenings of episodes of Animax shows like Fairy Tail were appreciated by the attendees in between segments as they could just relax and hang out at the space in front of the stage.
Pablo Bairan and the rest of the team from cosplay.ph were there to promote Cosplay Mania ’15, the biggest cosplay event this year. They had a quiz game where winners got to win great prizes like tickets to Cosplay Mania and the upcoming Lisa concert they will be holding very soon.
World-renowned Philippine Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao was a special guest who helped judge the cosplay competition. She also gave a great performance as Elizabeth from the anime Seven Deadly Sins, and the fans just couldn’t get enough of her as she brought her passion for anime and cosplay before the huge crowd.
Animax Carnival Philippines 2015 saw the return of the acclaimed Animax Cosplay Competition for cosplay lovers. Selected cosplayers got to showcase their costume-making talents and love for their favorite anime characters in dazzling performances. Tantin Meneses as Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail and Izaiah Luke Buelos got first and second place respectively, taking home huge cash prizes and giveaways.
Animax’s adorable mascot Oo-kun was there to spread fun and cuteness to everyone, and people just can’t get enough of him. Event goers also get the chance to purchase various merchandise and premiums from the Animax store such as Oo-kun plushies, drawstring bags, sticky notes, folders, fans and much more.
An exciting Jpop dance routine was performed by a very young and dynamic group, Junior New System, who wowed the crowed with amazing stunts and acrobatics.
Asia’s First Tambourine Master, Gonzo, a standout of Asia’s Got Talent, got to amaze the crowd with his exciting and frenetic tambourine skills, with a showmanship that the audience could not resist. He was humble, funny, and talented all at the same time, and everyone who was there was in awe at his unique but amusing skill.
