arkadymac.com is glad to be a media partner for Ozine Fest 2014, the biggest cosplay event this summer. Running three days all throughout the weekend, it has been a long-anticipated affair with its extensive lineup of attractions, and we’re glad to be able to bring you the highlights from Friday, the first day of festivities.
Foremost on Ozine Fest’s list of attractions are the amazing international guest cosplayers invited to take part in the event and have fun with their fans in the Philippines. The organizers gave us the unique opportunity of seeing them at the exclusive Meet and Greet event where lucky fans get to see the guests and have their photos taken with them.
Aza Miyuko, Jdoll, Yannbyul, and Ying Tze got to meet some of the fans in their Kill la Kill and Dangan Ronpa cosploays, and they truly were a sight to behold. Two of the other guests who were also scheduled to join them, Misa and Yazi, were noticeably not present. We have been told that Misa ran into some problems in Hong Kong, and we hope to update you on her status in our subsequent editions.
Even though it was just the first day of Ozine Fest, there were already a lot of people in attendance. The SM Mall of Asia SMX Convention Center Function Room 5 was filled with folks taking part in the event.
There were lots of merchandise booths besides the promotional booths of online games. There was something for everyone as people made their way across the stalls and booths, most being given freebies and prizes for participating in the event.
The stage was alive with performances from contestants at the Karaoke Contest and the Battle of the Bands, where aspiring groups gave their best in front of an appreciative crowd.
Of course we were there for the cosplayers who had a great time showing off their talents and colorful costumes to the crowd. We always enjoy seeing them having fun and mingling with the crowd and mixing it up with fellow cosplayers.
There was excitement in the air as the organizers, sponsors and exhibitors did their best to get everything right and in their proper place for Day 1. And by day’s end, there was fun enough everyone.
